Dulquer Salmaan was born in Kochi, Kerala, India, on 28th July 1986. He is an Indian film actor, singer and Businessperson who is renowned for his role in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Bollywood movies.
Personal Life:
He was born to the famous actor Mammootty and Sulfath Kutty. He has a sister named Kutty Surumi. His cousin is Actor Maqbool Salmaan.
In 2011, he has married to Amal Sufiya (architect) and the couple has blessed with a daughter called Maryam Ameerah Salmaan.
Career:
Upon finishing his school studies, he traveled to the US and earned his business management degree from the renowned Purdue University.
After his education, he worked in the USA for a while and then in Dubai. However, his interest in acting took him to India and he enrolled in the Barry John Acting School in Mumbai to learn acting.
Later, he was acted in his Malayalam action film entitled Second Show in 2012 by Srinath Rajendran. His success was highly regarded and brought him, along with numerous other awards, the Best Male Debut Award that year.
This was just the start of a fantastic career that took millions of fans to him. With movies like Ustad Hotel and ABCD, he established himself in Malayalam film industry: American-Born Confused Desi among others.
He then began to get offers from Tamil and other South Indian films. In 2014, he made his debut in Tamil with Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. He also received the Tamil Best Debut Male Award. He received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Malayalam film Charlie.
After establishing himself in the South Indian film industry, in 2018 he made his film debut in Bollywood with his highly acclaimed Bollywood movie Karwaan.
In this film he shared the screen with veteran Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan. The movie was a hit in the box office and helped him find additional roles in Bollywood.
He is next seen in the romantic film of Abhishek Sharma, The Zoya Factor. In this picture, he was cast opposite Sonam Kapoor.
He is also an known musician, besides acting, and has sung many of his songs himself. He was also nominated for Best Playback Singer Malayalam in 2016 for his album "Chundari Penne."
