Dhanush, who has been married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth for 18 years, on Monday night announced his divorce. The versatile actor asked everyone to respect their mutual decision.
In his statement, the Jagame Thandhiram actor said that he and Aishwarya have been together as friends, couple, parents and each other's well-wishers. He added that the journey has been one of adjusting, understanding and adapting.
Dhanush then said that they have now decided to part ways. He urged everyone to give them the privacy they need.
Dhanush and the elder daughter of Rajinikanth have two children. He is currently shooting for SIR, his Telugu debut. After the Samantha-Naga Chaitanya divorce last year, this one is the biggest celebrity separation to shock fans and general public alike.
