Kollywood director Desingh Periasamy of Dulquer Salmaan's 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal' ('Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante') fame has alleged that his assistant director has stolen gold from him and has also been threatening him with dire consequences. The filmmaker has lodged a complaint with the Chennai police.
Mohammad Iqbal is the name of the Assistant Director. "He has been working with me for the past six years. He looks after my accounts. The other day, I sent him to get a mortgage loan on 150 grams of jewellery. He used the opportunity to steal Rs 3 lakh of mortgage money. What is worse, he threatened to kill me and my wife when I questioned him about it," Desingh said in his complaint.
The director's next film is going to be with Tamil actor Simbu.
