Janhvi Kapoor, who is going to debut in Telugu with Jr NTR's 'Devara' later this year, is in the news over the release of her latest Bollywood film, 'Ulajh'. The beauty plays India's youngest Deputy High Commissioner who comes from a powerful family. How are film critics viewing the film? Let's find out.

As per Hindustan Times, the film "rushes and expects viewers to be on the same page wherever the ride makes a jarring halt". Furthermore, the film critic at the newspaper says, "The problem with films based on inter-country conflicts is they want to be taken seriously, but still rely on convenience to drive the plot forward."

The Hindu opined that Janhvi Kapoor is caught in an inept thriller. "This film is about an imperiled IFS officer in London who suffers from convoluted writing and misguided ambitions," the review mentioned.

Indian Express said, "Janhvi Kapoor's film is a damp squib, wasting fine ensemble cast on amateurish plot-line."

The Quint, on the other hand, opined that the film is engaging despite its missteps. "Ulajh is about spies and conspirators who want to scuttle peace efforts between two neighbouring nations but it is neither strident of tone nor jingoistic in spirit," NDTV wrote.

'Ulajh' also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang.
