Three ideas that could save Puri Jagannadh's career

'Double iSmart' is a massive disaster. On August 15, the 'word of mouth' was not horrible. Many believed that it wouldn't be as bad a disaster as 'Mr. Bachchan'. But the film is a historic flop of sorts. It is in the league of ignominious ridiculous disasters like 'Bholaa Shankar' and 'NTR: Kathanayakudu'.

Puri Jagannadh must pull up his socks and do three things that can give him a fighting chance. While these don't assure him of a revival, they could help him make at least a dull comeback:

1. Search for stories written by others:

Puri must stop writing stories. It is tiring to see 'Story - Screenplay - Dialogues - Direction by Puri Jagannadh' film after film. After 'Temper', he hasn't borrowed someone else's story. Even 'Temper' happened only because Jr NTR had urged him to. He was not willing to work on someone else's story on his own accord. This is either ego or stupidity.

2. Let others take care of money matters:

He and Charmme Kaur have produced every film he has directed in the last ten years. Probably, Puri should suspend Puri Connects' projects for a while. When 'Acharya' became a flop, everyone advised Koratala Siva not to walk in the muddy waters of finances. Probably, not worrying about money matters might herald some change in Puri's mindset. And the changed mindset could result in an ability to look at stories in a new light. Also, big production houses have a stock of stories with them. They could let Puri select a story that suits his taste.

3. Work with small actors:

Puri can think of making a film with newcomers. He is passionate about taking auditions. Doing a film filled with new faces could stir his creative energies like never before. When he works with big stars like Ram Pothineni and Vijay Deverakonda, he tends to give them loud characters. When they are loud, they tend to behave in old ways. With newcomers, Puri will think about the lack of suitability of new faces for his kind of characterizations. That could direct his creativity in new directions.
