In the 1990s, Bobby Deol was a busy artist in Hindi. A drastic change in movie-making trends and story-telling patterns in the early 2000s made him look outdated. For more than 15 years, Bobby faced a career crisis. Until he was approached by Sandeep Reddy Vanga with an offer to do Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, he was literally jobless for the most part.
It is said that Bobby almost lost his peace of mind during the forced sabbatical from acting. Although he took up some acting assignments, none of them gave him the recognition he wanted. Animal, released in 2023, changed the game for him. He is said to be so grateful to Sandeep Vanga that a mere mention of the director's name makes his eyes moist.
Bobby Deol now awaits the release of Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj in Telugu. The film will head to theatres on January 12, 2025. Director Bobby Kolli was aware that Deol would say no to the project if the story didn't match his changed standards after Animal.
Recently seen in Kanguva, Bobby Deol is also doing Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Thalapathy Vijay's 69th movie.
