"An awake craniotomy is a type of brain surgery that involves performing a craniotomy while the patient is awake and able to communicate with the surgical team. It's used to treat brain tumors," defines a medical portal. The news is that, during one such surgery in Kakinada, the patient watched the Jr NTR-Brahmanandam comedy scenes from 'Adhurs' as the doctors operated on her for 150 minutes.

Ananthalakshmi, aged 55, underwent surgery for a brain tumor at Kakinada's Government General Hospital. She had been experiencing symptoms such as numbness in her limbs and persistent headaches. After undergoing tests, she was diagnosed with a tumor on the left side of her brain.

Before the surgery, the patient requested the doctors that she would watch 'Adhurs', one of her all-time favourite movies. The surgeons stated that they allowed her to watch the VV Vinayak directorial, as they felt the movie would keep her "calm and distracted".
