On the 11th anniversary of the spoofy Hrudaya Kaleyam, actor Sampoornesh Babu recalled that SS Rajamouli's then-viral social media post helped his movie gain eyeballs before its release. It was this parodic comedy that made Sampoornesh the Burning Star of Telugu cinema. A few years later, he acted in Kobbari Matta, a spoof on the Pedarayudu genre.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Sampoornesh profusely thanked director-writer-producer Sai Rajesh (of Baby fame) for reshaping his acting career. "I come from a small village. Born as Narasimha Chari, I metamorphosed on the silver screen into Sampoornesh Babu, thanks to Rajesh anna. There was a time when the maximum I could dream of was owning a car. Thanks to Sai Rajesh anna, I have afforded flight travel. It has been eleven years since Hrudaya Kaleyam hit the cinemas. To this day, the audience talk about it with fondness," the comedy hero said.
The actor revealed that Sai Rajesh's banner will make another film with him in the future. He also expressed his desire to team up with SS Rajamouli. He has been to the Bigg Boss house previously. Sampoornesh wants to essay serious roles as well.
Sampoornesh said that he has been into charity. "I am open to critical views about me," he added.
The actor thanked everyone who has stood by him. "Sundeep Kishan's brother Maruthi and Tammareddy Bharadwaja garu supported me immensely during Hrudaya Kaleyam," he added.
Sampoornesh awaits the release of Sodhara on April 25th. Co-starring Sanjosh, Prachi Bansal and Aarti Gupta, the film's post-production journey is nearing conclusion. Directed by Man Mohan Menampalli, Sodhara is produced by Chandra Chagandla of Can Entertainments. Sampoornesh is doing two other films.
