Khaidi No. 150 was released in theatres for Sankranthi 2017. Since it was Chiranjeevi's comeback movie, the craze around it was at its peak. The film, despite being a remake, became Megastar's first Rs 100 Cr (share) movie.
However, media reports at that time claimed that producer Ram Charan had submitted to the IT department that the film had made just Rs 75 Cr (gross). This report was extensively used by haters and fan bases inimical to Chiranjeevi, stating that the publicized collections of the movie were highly exaggerated.
Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan had a smooth sailing in terms of the film's pre-release business. The latter reportedly told the Income Tax department that his father was paid just Rs 20 Cr as remuneration. If true, the remuneration is nothing for someone of Megastar's stature.
Box office trackers, though, regard Khaidi No. 150 as Chiranjeevi's first Rs 100 Cr (share) movie. After it, Sye Raa and Waltair Veerayya also entered the coveted one-billion club.
