How is Salman Khan's Sikandar? Critics have the answer

Sikandar, the Hindi-language action thriller film, was released today in theatres. Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it stars Salman Khan in the titular role.

So, what is the verdict? As per Bollywood film critics, Sikandar is among the worst Salman Khan movies in decades. This is in consonance with the social media verdict as well.

Most film critics feel that Murugadoss has tortured the audience with a dated story and consistently dumb scenes. Salman Khan's dull performance is embarrassing, they feel. A critic stated that Salman's last good film was released nine years ago (read Sultan).

Salman comes from a royal family in the movie. His onscreen wife is essayed by Rashmika Mandanna. Featuring Sathyaraj in a negative role, Sikandar has Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar, among others, in underwhelming parts. "Little of what Sikandar cobbles together achieves any degree of coherence. It's way too dependent on wild yet unimaginative contrivances that strain credulity," NDTV stated in its review.

Most film critics have rated Sikandar as a 2-star movie. One English-language daily gave it a paltry 1.5 stars. Salman Khan's film is well on its way to becoming a disaster.
