Parama Veera Chakra Abhinandana Sabha

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ under the direction of Dasari Narayana Rao was released on January 12th in worldwide theaters. In this regard on Monday a success meet was organized at Taj Deccan Hotel by Andhra Pradesh Vamsi Film Society. The event was graced by ex chief minister K Roshaiah, Dr Subbarami Reddy, BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna, his sister Purandeeswari, producer C Kalyan, Dr Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Murali Mohan, R Narayana Murthy, RV Ramana Murthy, etc. Along with the VIP guests the entire cast and crew also participated in the success meet.

The event started off with lighting of lamp by Smt Purandeeswari followed by the felicitation to Dasari Narayana Rao, Balakrishna and C Kalyan by the Vamsi Film Society.

Later addressing the gathering Dr T Subbarami Reddy said, “Dasari portrayed Balayya in various roles including that of a brave soldier. With good music, good entertainment and good message, Dasari molded the film perfectly. I’m confident that the audience will certainly make this film a grand success. The director and the hero are sure to get National Awards. I wish to see 100 days function of this film.”

Bandaru Dattatreya commented, “After a very long time I watched this film and Balakrishna’s dialogues haunted me even in my sleep. Terrorism is very dangerous to the country having 100 crores population. The movie is spreading a very good message to the society. This is not an ordinary film. It showcased how dangerous it is when top authority becomes weak in the foreigners hands. The movie also discussed the Kargil issue and gave a good message to the audience. Balakrishna’s performance is very natural. Dasari directed this film only for the good cause of the society.”

Nannapaneni Rajakumari while speaking, “Telugu people are aware of Dasari Narayana Rao garu. Some of them are spreading bad talk about this film. I remember even the film ‘Ramulamma’ had a bad talk when it opened in theaters but you all know how big hit was it. No one can stop the sun light. Whether the film is hit or not it is the message that should reach the people according to Dasari garu. There are many who worked hard behind the screen. The dialogues are thought provoking in this film and he dealt with various issues in the present world. PVC is not only a patriotic film but it has all other elements too. Balayya Babu lived in characters he portrayed. There are many soldiers’ families suffering for their daily bread. It’s only the poor who send their children to fight for the country. One can never find rich children into it. It’s only the poor who take the responsibility of saving our country. Dasari annayya directed this film to remind us of our responsibility as citizens of India. I appreciate C Kalyna garu for making one such wonderful film.”

Murali Mohan said, “Cinema is not just an entertainment but it also gives good messages to the society. We are aware how much the army people work hard for saving our country irrespective of fog, cold, rain or hot whether. ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ depicts how a country will be affected due to mistakes committed by a single army man. Balakrishna has completely changed into the characters he played in the film. While directing this film Dasari garu considered it as his first film. It is a must watch film for everyone, especially the generation today. I congratulate the director, producer and hero for coming up with one such wonderful film.”

Purandeeswari while speaking, “Whenever I watch my brother’s film I used to call him over phone and criticize him more than giving him appreciations. But for the first time I’m participating in this success meet. He proved his excellence in every scene of the film. Dasari garu crafted the film as a message giving film. Despite many films being released in a year, I appreciate one such message oriented film. Once when I asked my father about the incidents they show in movies are true or false, he said that mostly the films are made based on real life incidents. The scenes in these films indicate how close it is to the incidents that occur in the present world. When thought of remaking ‘Gundamma Katha’, we could not decide on anyone for the role played by Suryakantham. Right now for each kind of character there is a different hero. But no one except Balakrishna can do mythological roles. He is a complete actor. I’m not saying this because he is my brother. It is only due to my father’s love for Kalamatalli, which we feel our brother could fulfill. As long as I was watching this film, he reminded me of my father in few scenes. This film showcased how much an army man is struggling to save our country. Many are opining that the film is not good but according to me it is a must watch film. I appreciate Kalyan garu for making such a good film.”

K Roshaiah in his speech, “After a very very long time I’ve gone to a theater watched this film yesterday. I watched this film on Dasari’s invitation. I’ve not understood the first half of the film but post interval the film had a good grip till the end. The parents who have patriotic mind only will send their children into army. The soldiers struggle in remote areas and save our country. We normally come across many teachers and doctors getting transferred to different places. But as far as soldiers are concerned, they leave their family and their desires at their home and join the army. Their main focus will be only on how protecting the country. In this line Dasari garu designed the film wonderfully. No one in world cinema has so far directed 150 films and he is ready to make another 150 films. Every film that he directs will have some message. PVC also has a good message. I’m confident that the audience will watch this film. Many films that get small openings will become big hits later. It is very difficult to understand stories in the latest films. But people of my generation will like only old movies and message oriented films. I wish Dasari garu will take many more movies in this genre. Although I had difference of opinion with Rama Rao garu politically, I still used to like him as an actor. His son Balakrishna also lived up to his father’s standards. I wish him to do many more movies in future. Cinema is a powerful media and I feel good messages reach the public only through cinema.”

Balakrishna expressed his happiness for having acted in 150th film of Dasari Narayana Rao. PVC is a thought provoking commercial film. My father delivered many message oriented films. But right now everything has become an entertainment. When our Indian army won in Kargil war, no one even bothered about it, whereas when our country wins in a cricket match people appreciate that. Such is the situation of the present society. There is a very good message in this film. The Indian army is saving our country. This movie will give courage to the people who are not bothered about what is happening in the society. In some countries people are compelled to learn military education. I wish one such system will establish in our country also. According to me every citizen should become a soldier when it is necessary. I was trained by retired army officers for my role in this film. During that time I learnt about their experiences in life. The soldiers are saving our country even without sleeping for a while. I’m obsessed for Telugu language and I got the opportunity to speak good Telugu through this film. I’m happy to note that this movie is doing well with the blessings of my parents.”

Dasari Narayana Rao said, “We would like to tell the people that we always come up with different films. This is definitely a different film. The reason being the people who gathered here are the proofs. I did a film with Rama Rao without a duet song. Almost 20 films that I directed have no duets. I did many experiments. I borrowed the script from Sarath and directed Devadas Malliputtadu with Nageswara Rao. And everyone knows how big hit was that film. I did ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ with Balakrishna in order to direct a message oriented film. I was to introduce Balakrishna through Sivaranjani but failed to do so since he was busy in writing exams. The present film industry is in a very bad phase. This movie has been made with a good intention, hence we are getting very good response for Komaram Bheem role. Balayya Babu gave excellent performance in both roles. His performance in few scenes is unbelievable. The movie has all kinds of required elements to the audience. Of late the movies are getting bad publicity even before its release. I crafted this film with good storyline. The ladies must come to theaters and watch this film which has women who sacrificed their lives for their country. This is a good movie and great movie, hence I’m confident that this movie will definitely reach the people of nook and corner. Even if this movie doesn’t run in theaters, it is indeed a very great film. Ameesha Patel informed me over phone that Sanjay Dutt wanted to remake this film after watching it. That shows the greatness of this film. Those who want to see a truthful film can watch this film. I congratulate C Kalyan for making one such good film. ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ will remain in Telugu Cinema Album forever. I thank the audience for watching and appreciating a good film.”
