Soggade Chinni Nayana Thanks Meet

King Nagarjuna. Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi starrer ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ became big success. On this occasion, the film unit has arranged thanks meet on Saturday (February 20) in Hyderabad. The film directed by Kalyan Krishna and produced under Annapurna Studios, was released on January 15 on the occasion of Sankranti.

Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “After a classical hit like ‘Manam’ I did ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. The success of this commercial film has increased my confidence that we can experiment with a new subject and new director. We got moral support. As the film was released during Sankranti season, it was released in just 400 theaters. Even after the festival, the film is running successfully with good collections. Today, it turned 35 days and till now it is receiving superb collections. Just now I have seen ‘Oopiri’ film. ‘Oopiri’ also came out wonderfully. The success of ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has given me immense happiness. In my opinion, it is not the correct thing to compare the film’s collections with my past films. If ‘Shiva’ was released now, it may have collected more than this. Today, the film’s collection is Rs 50 Crores, tomorrow it may increase to 60 and day after tomorrow it may further increase to 70 and theother day it may reach 100. Those all are just numbers. NTR garu’s ‘Mayabazar’ and my father’s ‘Premabhishekam’ may have collected far more than this if they were released now. Now, coming to this film, it’s an ensemble effort. We worked all together like family members for one year. When Rahman garu has narrated the script, Kalyan Krishna has designed Bangarraju character wonderfully and we all know his hard work for penning dialogues for the good outcome of each and every scene. Extensive credit goes to Kalyan Krishna. He extracted what he wants from me, Sampath and Nassar and everyone. We already discussed that if the film becomes success we goes to the sequel. At first we planned to put the title ‘Soggadu malli vachadu’, but Bangarraju character reached near to the audience. So that we have decided to make the sequel with the title ‘Bangarraju’. As of now, we can’t say when the sequel will be. In the same way, Dill Raju garu asked me to listen to a script. We have wrapped up ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ shooting. Dubbing works are left to be done for ‘Oopiri’. I’m going to dub my lines in Tamil also.

My next will be with Raghavendra Rao garu. We are planning to stat the film in April. The story is based on Hathiram Baba, who is an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara in 18th century. I’m working with Naga Chaitanya under Kalyan Krishna direction. The film will commence after ‘Premam’. Whenever I do experiments with new stories, I was successful. Kalyan has crafted the film with good clarity. Anoop has given the best music for this film after ‘Manam’. I reached the family audience through a TV program ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ than filmgoers. We learned new things through this film. I got very satisfied with ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. ‘Oopiri’ film was made based on the real story. I’m extremely confident that it will stand out as a trendsetting movie and path breaking movie.”
