FICCI Ladies Organisation announces Ms.Aparna Reddy as its new Chairperson

Hyderabad July 16th, 2011: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Hyderabad Chapter is pleased to announce Ms. Aparna Reddy as the Chairperson for FLO and Ms. Swapna Cherukuri as Chairperson for YFLO for the year 2011-2012 at the 9th Annual Session and Change of Guard Ceremony held today at Taj Krishna. Ms. Sudha Murty, Chairperson of the lnfosys Foundation was the Chief Guest on the occasion. As a part of the learning initiative forums that are being undertaken over the years by FLO with and for its members, Ms. Sudha Murty was invited to bestow her valuable insights on Power of Vision in Leadership. For the year 2011-12, The FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter will have Mrs. Rekha Reddy, as Vice Chairperson, Monika Agarwal as Secretary and Madhvi Chandra as Treasurer. Young FLO will have Mourya Boda as Vice Chairperson, Ashita Nawalgaria as Secretary and Swetambari as Treasurer. Ms. Chandana Chakrabarti and Ms. Mansi Malik were the Chairpersons for FLO and YFLO for the year 2010-11 respectively.

Ms. Sudha Murty emphasised on 'The Power of Vision' being the most powerful motivator for change al id success that communities, organisations, nations, and individuals all possess. She stated, "Most people share a yearning to be something bigger than them. Something they can be excited about, and something that will challenge them to go beyond being average. A Powerful Vision fulfils that yearning and drives you to your goals. Creating an inspiring vision is one of the most critical ongoing roles of a successful leader. It means the difference between high and average performance. The Power of Vision can inspire people to think together, dream together, and act together to make a difference. Exceptional leaders don't impart just a vision; rather they cultivate the emergence of a vision."

Commenting on the occasion, Ms.Aparna Reddy, Chairperson, FLO said, "I would like to thank all of you for having given me this opportunity to work for an organisation which promotes women empowerment at all levels. It's my endeavour to put together diverse and dynamic events which will enhance and enlighten the members through educative talks, panel discussions, workshops and fellowships focusing on women empowerment," She continued, "There is a very appropriate saying by Malcolm Forbes - the goal of education is to replace an empty mind with an open mind.

Ms.Swapna Cherukuri, Chairperson, YFLO stated, "I am privileged to lead the YFLO Hyderabad chapter in 2011-12. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for entrusting upon me this exciting opportunity of taking this Chapter to greater heights to the best of my abilities. Our vision for this year will be to focus on executing a series of outstanding events that will empower each one of us to excel in our lives. We will connect and interact with visionaries who have excelled in their respective fields and bring to the table their inspiring stories for us to learn. We will also continue in our endeavours to bring emphasis on environmental issues.

About FLO (FICCI ladies organization): FLO was established in 1983, as a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) which is the apex body of industry and commerce in India. Its primary objective was to create a platform that voiced the concerns of women entrepreneurs, businesswomen and professionals and promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence. As an all India organization for women, FLO has chapters in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Gawhati and Coimbatore with its head office in Delhi. The Hyderabad Chapter of FLO was launched in 2001 and today has over 320 members. About YFLO (Young FICCI ladies organization): YFLO stands for young FICCI Ladies Organization which is an exclusive women's wing of the prestigious national organization FICCI. The goal of YFLO is women empowerment at various levels across different strata of society in India. YFLO was launched in the year 2005 — 2006 in Hyderabad for the younger section of FICCI Ladies Organization addressing issues more of concern yet not limited to age group of 24 to 39.
