Procam International announces elaborate arrangements for Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K

Hyderabad, November 21, 2012: Procam International, promoters of the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K 2012, today announced their preparedness to host the event on Sunday, November 25, which will see participation from international distance running athletes, a majority of India's best track and road runners and around 7,000 other participants who will run in the difference categories on Race Day. The occasion was also used to unveil the route for the event and share details of the traffic arrangements and medical facilities that will be available to the participants.

Shri C V Anand, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Dr. Ravinder Babu, Medical Superintendent of Apollo Hospital, Race Director, Hugh Jones and Vivek B Singh, Jt. Managing Director, Procam International, the promoters of the event, were present on the occasion.

While around 7000 registrations have already been received, there has been a last minute influx of registrations that are yet being processed. On-spot registrations will also be accepted on the three days of the Expo, from November 22 to November 24, which will be held at the People's Plaza.

The main event of the day, the 10 km run will be flagged off from People's Plaza at 6.40 a.m, with the 7 km Mazza Run will set off at 7.50 a.m. The 10 km run will offer prize money for men and women in the overall category, the Indian category, the veteran category (men 45 to 55, women 40 to 50); senior veteran category (men 55 to 65, women 50 to 60) and super veteran category (men 65 and above, women 60 and above). The 10 km run will start from Opposite People's Plaza on Necklace Road (South Bound Carriage Way - Along the Lake) - move straight towards Prasad's IMAX - turn left on NTR Marg towards NTR Garden and Sachivalayam Hyderabad - turn left on Upper Tank Bund Road - go straight on NH 9 and cross the railway underpass - turn left on Minister's Road - turn left towards Railway Under-Pass - turn left on Necklace Road - move straight towards Sailing Club - U-Turn on Necklace Road - move towards the Finish crossing Sanjeevaiah Park, Jalvihar, Necklace Road MMTS Station & Eat Street - and finish after crossing Eat Street, outside People's Plaza.

The 7 km Mazza Run will start from opposite People's Plaza on Necklace Road (North Bound carriage way - Opposite carriage way to the Lake) - move straight towards Necklace Road MMTS Station - after crossing Jalvihar will move straight towards Sanjeevaiah Park - cross Sanjeevaiah Park & take a U-Turn on Necklace Road - move towards the Finish after crossing Sanjeevaiah Park, Jalvihar, Necklace Road, MMTS Station & Eat Street - and finish after crossing Eat Street, outside People's Plaza. Medical Partner Apollo Hospital will ensure that every participant has a safe and healthy run and have made elaborate arrangements for the same. There will be 1 base medical station and four medical stations along the route. Five fully equipped ambulances will be pressed into service and manning all these will be 21 doctors, 20 nurses and 20 support staff. The Base Camp at the Start and Finish of the 10 km Run, will have 40 beds, 1400 liters of water, 300 kgs of ice in cube form, Electral sachets, 20 tables with drapes, first aid kits, medicines, relief sprays etc. Each of the four medical stations along the route will have 300 liters of water, 150 kgs of ice, Electral sachets, 2 tables with drapes, first aid kits, relief sprays etc.

To keep all participants sufficiently hydrated there will be 7 water stations along the route, from where around 40,000 liters of water will be distributed. There will also be two energy drink stations will also distribute around 3,000 sachets of electoral to the participants.

Besides these arrangements, there would be nearly sufficient Law & Order and Traffic Police on Race Day to prevent any untoward incidents. Their efforts would be supplemented by private security guards and volunteers.
Arrangements have been made for a total of 80 portable toilets, from which 60 will be distributed in the holding areas at People's Plaza, while 20 will be stationed along the route.
