Krishnakriti Annual Festival at Kalakriti Art Gallery

This year we are celebrating 9th edition of the Krishnakriti Annual Festival of Art and Culture.
Krishnakriti Art Foundation was launched in 2004, dedicated to the memory of the late Sri Krishnachandra B Lahoti, and is organized with the support of the Lahoti Foundation, to support artists and educational activities in the field of visual arts.
The Festival is intended to celebrate three abiding refinements of life -- art, culture and education -- and to share these with as many people as possible. Along with artist residencies, lectures, conversations, seminars, workshops, art talks, films, classical music, theatre, and other educational initiatives form this festival; wherein luminaries are invited from State, National & International.
Dedicated to the cause 'Art for education', the Krishnakriti festival is aimed at providing scholarships to deserving young art students and budding artists from across India. Our philanthropy reaches to students through institutions in Hyderabad, Baroda, Santiniketan, Delhi & Bangalore.
Krishnakriti awards annual residency programs in France every year, in collaboration with the French Embassy. Furthermore, Kalakriti has launched 'Kalakriti Award for Achievement and Excellence' which will be an annual feature to honor an individual who made a difference to the city with their work, will be presented during the festival every year.
This year the Foundation has invited many celebrated personalities to have interactive sessions / live concert with the Hyderabad audience, like, eminent Art Historian Padma Shri Jagdish Mittal, Jagannath Panda, S G Vasudev, R M Palaniappan, Bari Kumar, Mahesh Bhatt, M K Raghavendra, Meenakshi Shedde, Ramesh Prasad, Elahe Hiptoolah, Parthiv Shah and Vidya Shah.
The detailed schedule for this year's Krishnakriti Annual Festival of Art and Culture is as follows-
7 January 2013 7 pm Kalakriti Art Gallery Inauguration of Festival, followed by talk by eminent art historian Jagdish Mittal on Deccani paintings
8 January 2013 5 pm Kalakriti Art Gallery Talk & presentation by Jagannath Panda
