Based on the real life of George Reddy, a student leader who fought against the oppression of students from backward classes and women in 70's, a film is being made. The trailer of the movie, titled 'George Reddy', was released yesterday on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami and the trailer has been impressive.
Sandeep Madhav of 'Vangaveeti' fame plays George Reddy in this movie and looks like he has given his best once again for this role. Jeevan Reddy directs this movie and the background score of Arijit Datta stands out in the trailer. Suresh Bobbili of 'Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha' fame is the music director. Satyadev is also seen in the trailer and he plays a key role in this movie. Manoj Nandam, Shatru, Chaitanya Krishna, Devika will be seen in other important roles.
National award winning cinematographer Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti of 'Sairat' and 'Naal' fame cranks camera for this movie.
Who is George Reddy ?
For the uninitiated, George Reddy, a student leader, was a founding member of PDSU and he fought against social discrimination in universities. He was a Gold Medalist in physics from Osmania University and also a good boxer. He was killed in 1972 by his rivals.
Suriya's character from Maniratnam's 2004 movie, 'Yuva' (Aaytha Ezuthu in Tamil) was inspired from George Reddy's real life.
