MRT Music, a music label, has slapped a legal notice on the Congress party. The music company has accused the political party of resorting to infringement of copyrights owned by it by copying the background score from 'KGF' in a recent campaign video designed to elevate Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The complaint has been slapped against Congress party's General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, who is a former Union Minister. Besides him, Rahul Gandhi has also received a notice.
"The infringed videos were broadcasted by the party on their official social handles. Infringing our copyright and intellectual property rights is illegal. This act on the part of the party sends a completely wrong signal to the Indian public and is completely contrary to the efforts of safeguarding our copyrights," the notice says.
