On Sunday's Mann Ki Baat episode, Narendra Modi invoked the name of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He noted that 2024 marked the birth centenaries of several luminaries, including Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, Tapan Sinha, and ANR.

Akkineni Nagarjuna, taking to social media, thanked PM Modi for honoring his father on his centenary year alongside other iconic legends. "His vision and contributions to Indian cinema continue to inspire generations, and this recognition means the world to our family and countless admirers of his work," the Naa Saami Ranga actor wrote. His Annapurna Studios celebrated ANR's legacy for days on end.

Naga Chaitanya, who awaits the theatrical release of Thandel on February 7 next year, thanked the PM for his "wonderful words about ANR Garu’s artistic merit and his efforts that have played a key role in shaping the brilliant Telugu film industry as we know it today. Means a lot to hear these words from a stalwart like you! Blessed and immensely grateful."
