Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller 'The Greatest of All Time' is slated to hit the cinemas on September 5. AGS Entertainment has produced the big-ticket movie.

Director Venkat Prabhu wrote the script as a two-hero movie. The father-son duo in 'The GOAT' was supposed to be played by two different actors. When VP wrote the story, he had Rajinikanth and Dhanush in mind. As destiny would have it, he couldn't pitch the story to the duo. AGS Entertainment pitched the story to Vijay, their 'Bigil' hero.

Vijay has essayed a dual role in the movie, essentially turning the idea into a one-hero movie. Whether this will prove to be a blessing or a bane is something only time is going to tell.

The Telugu version of 'The GOAT' is being released in the Telugu States by Mythri Movie Makers. On the release date, early morning (4am) shows are being planned in the Telugu States. But the film might have very limited takers. Vijay has no fan base in the Telugu land.
