What next for director Shankar after Ram Charan's Game Changer? The filmmaker himself has opened up about the same.
The superstar director stated that he will be taking up a project titled Velpari. This has been in the works for more than three years. Its script was firmed up in 2020-21. Since Indian 2, Indian 3 and Game Changer kept him busy, he couldn't launch Velpari.
Velpari is based on a Tamil novel. The Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novel is written by Su Venkatesan, who did profound research by studying Sangam-era poetry and travelling extensively to write the book.
There are rumours that either Suriya or a Bollywood hero would be headlining the film. If Kanguva had become a hit, probably, Velpari going to Suriya would have been a foregone conclusion.
Indian 3, starring Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, will hit the cinemas later this year. Shankar's Game Changer with Ram Charan will be released on January 10.
