Sonal Chauhan, who was recently seen in a special role in 'F3', is known for movies like 'Legend' in Telugu. She is kicked about getting to play a meaty role in 'The Ghost'. The Dasara release has her in the role of an Interpol agent who shares screen space with Nagarjuna.
Ahead of the film's theatrical release on October 5, Sonal talks about her working experience and how tough it was to undergo intensive training. By the way, she is also doing Prabhas' 'Adipurush' and shares a bit about it.
For long, I had been wanting to do an action-heavy role. 'The Ghost', therefore, enthused me right from the start. I get to do stunts and hold powerful weapons in the film. It was a pleasure working with Nag sir. Within minutes of meeting him, I became comfortable. There was no trace of nervousness. He feels like he is my age-mate.
There are speculations about whether I have done a lip lock in the movie. You will know it when the movie releases. For now, I neither confirm nor deny the rumour.
The training I had to undergo was intensive. It went on for two months. We released glimpse videos of my training. What actually happened was much beyond.
I suffered a proper fracture on the second day of my training. When the doctor advised me not to participate in training for six weeks, I was mighty disappointed.
Doing 'The Ghost' has taught me the value of discipline and mental fortitude. That's why this film is always going to be special.
For many years, I was pining to play a substantial role of this sort. 'The Ghost' is going to change the way the film industry looks at me as an actor. After this movie, I will be seen as someone who holds the potential to do a variety of roles. I don't like playing stereotypical glam doll roles. 'The Ghost' has happened at a time when I am doing 'Adipurush' and shared screen space with Venkatesh sir in 'F3'.
It was great teaming up with Praveen Sattaru, the director. He is versatile and very systematic. He had a bounded script ready many weeks before 'The Ghost' went on the floors.
Coming to 'Adipurush', I am not supposed to speak much about it. I have been a huge fan of Prabhas sir. I really enjoyed doing the film because of its genre.
