My role in Daaku Maharaaj is a blessing: Pragya Jaiswal

Pragya Jaiswal feels that Nandamuri Balakrishna is her lucky charm. Having teamed up with him for Akhanda before, the Kanche actress is upbeat about her second outing with the actor. Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by S Naga Vamsi, will head to theatres on January 12. In her latest interview, Pragya talks about the film. Talking about her character, Pragya says that the shot of her holding a knife in the Trailer is a bit of a surprise that the audience better explore for themselves on the big screen.

Kaveri is my character's name in the movie. Daaku Maharaaj is set in a world of its own, a world created by Bobby Kolli. I am highly positive about the film. I am confident that my performance will be appreciated by the audience.

My association with director Bobby happened late but I have known him for many years. I happened to meet him even before Kanche came my way. His calm demeanor on set is something I admire a lot about him. It helped in smooth sailing. Shooting in Rajasthan was stress-free. It is a blessing that I got to work with the director.

Balayya Sir is positive, energetic, and childlike in real life. He is an enthusiastic person who is so full of life. He also loves cracking jokes. He enjoys playing superhuman characters. Having seen him play the most intense Aghora character in Akhanda, I can vouch for his dedication. Discipline is the biggest takeaway from him. He wakes up as early as 3:30 AM, does his poojas, workouts, and is always on set before time. He remains grounded, committed, and passionate about his craft.

Sithara Entertainments is a banner that carries a lot of prestige. S Naga Vamsi garu is a very driven producer. His support throughout the making phase was salient. Cinematographer Vijay Kannan’s attention to detail and other technical aspects are highlights. Thaman is one of the best music directors in the industry. He has created incredible songs and background music for Daaku Maharaaj. My personal favorite is Rage of Daaku. Thaman always brings fresh sounds.

The film getting released in theatres on my birthday feels surreal. I see this happy coincidence as a blessing from the Universe.
