Dhee, Dubai Seenu and now, Ready. The success of all these in a row has given tremendous confidence to Sreenu Vytla. This successful director stole some precious time for media and spoke his heart out about King, his secrets, his respects and fascination.

Now as successful director of three consecutive films, Vytla claims to have understood the basic needs of the audience and their expectations from him. “As a director of these three movies, I have learnt the nitigrities of the film making and taste of audiences. It is now difficult for me to give a movie without an element of entertainment in it. I have the responsibility to get the return to the producers and at the same time maintain certain standards in my films.”

He further added “I am a kind of sincere follower of the works of Maniratnam and Ramgopal Verma, though I do not show these abundantly in my films, there would always be traces in a few scenes. The actions, surroundings and the situations in a few places will look like their works. I proudly admit that”.

As the conversations progressed, he fielded a question on his remuneration tactically and said, “I am the most cost effective director. Apart from avoiding costly sets, my remuneration that I take is far below the industry average. Even for the King, my figures are very reasonable, infact it’s very less which I agreed upon much before the success of Ready”.

He further added “take for example, Prakash Raj, the most successful artist. I am unable to consider him now-a-days for my movies as I could assemble a complete crew whose collective remuneration put together will be a bit less than that of Prakash Raj alone. By keeping character oriented subjects strong, I broke the usual practice of giving the hero’s role a large weightage. The result, the entire crew does its best and the movie is seen a collective success instead of one individual. The strong story speaks for itself.”

Ironically, now he has Nagarjuna in his latest movie “King”. He says “The recent successful movies of mine do not have hero eccentric subjects. But this time, I am training my efforts on Nagarjuna who I always wanted to see as a “King”. Here I am caught between my trade mark and the image of big hero. With the ever understanding Nag and his giving me complete freedom, touch wood, I am pragmatic in achieving the success as my recent movies”.

On Brahmanandam, he opined as, “We have a right chemistry that takes us together. Ready saw him perform to the best and in King, do expect a bit better that Ready”.
