Eega Muhurat

SS Rajamouli’s new film ‘Eega’ was launched today, the 7th of December at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. The film starring Nani, Samantha and Sudeep is being produced by Sai Korrapati aka Ballari Sai (Rajamouli’s family friend) under Vaarahi Chalana Chitram banner, which will be presented by D Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions banner.

The launching event was graced by K Raghavendra Rao, D Ramanaidu, VV Vinayak, Venkatesh, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ravi Teja, Sunil, etc. For the muhurat shot VV Vinayak tapped the clapboard while D Ramanaidu switched on the camera and K Raghavendra Rao directed the first shot.

Later speaking to the media Rajamouli said, “The basic story of ‘Eega’ was written by my father during the initial days when he wanted to become a writer. And now the same has been developed with the title ‘Eega’. Initially I planned to make this film with low budget without any publicity. But since the media traced and publicized it, we decided to make it on a large scale in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.”

He revealed the plot of the story: “The story revolves around a housefly character. It is about a young man who falls in love with a beautiful girl. One fine day he will have a love war with the hysteric villain and will be killed in the fight. Later the hero will be re-born as a housefly and takes the revenge on the villain. With what power does the housefly takes revenge on the villain is the bottom-line of the story.”

Speaking on technical aspects of the film Rajamouli said, “It’s certainly an experimental film. Although not much of visual effects, there would be a lot of CG effects in the film. We need to shoot the film with various types of lens. Hence we need a cameraman who is an expert in manufacturing of lens. We chose James Flowds because he did a great job in Hindi film ‘Lamhaa’. He also has a fabulous vision and is an expert in lensing. The film’s run time is about 1 ½ - 2 hrs and has only 3 songs. We will begin the regular shooting after one month due to pre-production works.”

Before concluding his speech he thanked his producers for letting him explore the new concept of pre-visualization before the film hit the sets.
Kannada actor Sudeep who also did quite a few Bollywood flick directed by Ram Gopal Varma said that this film is going to be a special one and that this is the first of its kind film he is doing in his film career. He also said, “I enjoyed watching all Rajamouli’s films. ‘Eega’ has a unique concept. I’m very happy to be part of one such film that will enhance the new cinematic experience.”

MM Keeravani while speaking, “We get lot of energy when we work with Suresh Babu. The music in this film will be very new and due to enough freedom the music will definitely turn out to be good.”

Suresh Babu said, “When Rajamouli narrated this story to me I was completely satisfied and infact it was exciting too. There will be a lot of magic in the film. With good technicians and all kinds of emotions, ‘Eega’ will definitely be a safe film. I’m happy that we are doing a good film.”

Nani and Samantha also expressed their enthusiasm and happiness.
