There is a view that 'Pushpa 2' is nothing but a high-budgeted and well-made Bhojpuri cringefest. This comment has been increasingly seen on social media ever since the release of 'Kissik' and 'Peelings'. The nature of the songs and the suggestive movies by the Sreeleela-Rashmika Mandanna duo in them have made many describe the film in unflattering terms. Also, Allu Arjun's characterization in the film is 'chapri'-like, the elite view goes.
Elite views are not to be taken too seriously. They don't impact a film's box office stamina negatively. Most item songs are ridiculed by a section of the Hollywood-loving, Korean movie-admiring Indian fan base on social media. But these very item songs end up becoming chartbusters. They actually admire boring films like 'Laal Singh Chadhha', which are denounced by the masses.
Even Bollywood superstars like Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh try to do what Allu Arjun is doing in 'Pushpa 2'. But they don't always succeed because of their image and classy physical attributes. Allu Arjun, on the other hand, has molded his body language completely for Pushpa Raj.
If the first part of the film is anything to go by, 'Pushpa 2' is not a glorified Bhojpuri film when it comes to its story and writing. Rest we will know on December 5.
