Is Film Media Destroying Movie Appreciation?

Do mood swings fuel negative opinions about movies? If producer S Naga Vamsi is to be believed, the answer is 'yes'. Since Naga Vamsi is one of the most happening producers of Telugu cinema, his rants and views, criticisms and outbursts do matter.

As per Naga Vamsi, critics have under-appreciated MAD Square. "Reviews are just one person's opinion. If the reviewer had a fight with his wife at home that morning, he would tend to write a negative review," Naga Vamsi remarked.

While many have previously slammed film critics (among them, the cast and crew of Month of Madhu), none of them carry the virality that Naga Vamsi's opinions do. He is a controversy-savvy producer who knows how to be in the headlines. He likes to do straight talk, no matter what. That's him, like it or not.

In a way, the Entertainment media deserve the flak to an extent. Also, even epic-scale movies started to be assessed in inferior ways with the advent of websites. Many movies rated as low as 2.5 stars have gone to be considered as masterpieces by the audience, proving that the mainstream Entertainment media is irrelevant. In fact, it is because of the mainstream media's failure that YouTubers have become wildly popular in recent years.

In such a scenario, the film industry's grouse with the web media is justified. More than mood swings and quarrels with spouses, it is the pompous and affected mindset of the media that needs to be lashed out at.
