Daaku Maharaaj is a visual splendour: Makers at Release Event

The Release Event of Daaku Maharaaj was held in Hyderabad on Friday evening. The success of the film's Release Trailer was a hallmark of the occasion.

Nandamuri Balakrishna was in his element. Speaking about his Sankranthi release, the hero sounded upbeat. He mentioned the high points of his filmography, right from Aditya 369 to more recent titles like Akhanda and Bhagavanth Kesari. He suggested that Daaku Maharaaj has a nice message. "The film also highlights the greatness of Telugus. The Teaser was normal, while the Trailer was okay. Release Trailer is spot-on. The cinematographer has implemented a fab lighting scheme. The director-cinematographer duo is like a couple. What the director conceives must be manifested effectively by the DoP," Balayya said. In his usual style, he sprinkled his speech with mythological and scriptural references.

Balakrishna was all praise for SS Thaman's music. "The composer, cinematographer and editor are crucial for any film. They can cover up for small slip-ups. Pragya Jaiswal's character is amazing in Daaku Maharaaj. Our combination is respected by the audience. She didn't even ask for the story. Shraddha Srinath is an artist with great potential. Urvasi Rautela has a role in the movie; she is not limited to Dabidi Dibidi," Balayya said. The hero also praised fight master V Venkat. "He took extra care while working on the movie.

Director Bobby Kolli lauded Balayya. "Anybody who works with him just falls in love with him. He lets his director do whatever he wants. That's the degree of freedom he gives us. The dialogues in the film are a toast to his personality. When a negative character says there is a 'mutha' behind Daaku Maharaaj, another one corrects him, saying it is not a 'mutha' but a 'sainyam'. Action choreographer V Venkat gave up a lot of offers to focus on this film. Producer Naga Vamsi garu, too, gave us complete freedom. The movie was shot over 130 working days. He was hardly there on set on a handful of occasions. This is my first collaboration with production designer Avinash Kolla. He is one of the best art directors. He was there with us in Jaipur and other shooting locations. When I called up Pragya for the first time to talk about this film, she had just stepped out of the Tirumala temple. What a divine coincidence," the director said, also lauding the performances by others like Bobby Deol and Shraddha Srinath.

SS Thaman said that he and director Bobby Kolli have been constantly bickering in the studio like Tom n Jerry. "Daaku Maharaaj has demanded our everything. We both have given our best. The stunning visuals needed to be given fitting music. The editor hasn't been able to sleep for days on end. He has taken so much stress. Balayya garu's blessings mean a lot. He is like a fatherly figure," Thaman said.

Producer S Naga Vamsi said that ticket bookings have been rolled out on the occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadasi. He also spoke about a parallel. "Our banner's Sankranthi blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, too, was released on Sunday. Its event was also held on a Sunday," Naga Vamsi said.
