Puri Jagannadh’s son Aakash, whose journey started with the film ‘Chiruta’ believes that he can go on to do well in his movie career. ‘Lotus Pond’ was his full-fledged film and ‘Dhoni’ is his second film in central role. The 13 year old budding child actor was recently seen as young Mahesh Babu in ‘Businessman’ and now he is playing the same in Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Gabbar Singh’. He says that he is desperate to become a hero when he grows up. Here are some excerpts from his interview:

About Dhoni’s response from the public: The response for ‘Dhoni’ is good and the collections are also gradually increasing. I’m very happy about the film’s success. This movie was a decent hit in Tamil Nadu as well.

About Prakash Raj: Prakash Raj garu is an awesome director. He directed the movie like an experienced director. He supported me and encouraged a lot during shootings. He would ask me to relax when I was to tell big dialogues.

About Ilayaraja: I’m very happy to be part of one such film for which Ilayaraja garu scored music. I’m very happy to share the dias with him during audio function.

About his performance in ‘Dhoni’: I did tiny mistakes like blinking my eyes in few scenes which I realized it later, otherwise my performance in the last scene is being appreciated.  Many have appreciated my performance in the second half of the film.

When asked how he was selected for the role in ‘Dhoni’:  When Prakash Raj garu was actually searching for boys in the age group of 14 years, it seems he suddenly thought of me. I already worked with him in ‘Chiruta’. So one fine day he narrated the story to my father and then to me, after that we decided to go ahead with it. I played my real life character in ‘Dhoni’, so I never had difficulty in doing my role. The entire first half was my real character.

Favourite Scene in Dhoni:  My favourite scene is the one in which I get hurt and fall down, and the climax scene in which I open my eyes.

Favourite hero:  My favourite heroes are Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Allu Arjun.

Favourite directors:  My favourite directors are Rajamouli, Vinayak, Shankar and Maniratnam. When asked about his dad, he instantly reacted “Of course, I like my daddy too.” (smiles)

Favourite films:  Although I did Chiruta, Bujjigadu and many other films, I like Dhoni because of its story.

Favourite among his dad’s films:  My favourites are 'Pokiri', 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi' and 'Businessman'.

About his next project:  My next film is ‘Gabbar Singh’, but after that I’m going to give a break and concentrate on my studies since I’ll be in 9th in my next academic year.  I’m doing young Pawan Kalyan in ‘Gabbar Singh’. I’m very excited about it. And I also like Pawan Kalyan garu.

About his life’s goal:  I’m not into studies and I’m very very poor in studies just like my character in ‘Dhoni’.  I’m crazy about acting right from my childhood. When I was studying 3rd standard, I told my father that I wanted to become a hero when I grow up. I’m planning to come back to films again as soon as I complete my degree.
