Tamil actor Karthi, who’s also actor Surya’s brother, stepped into Telugu film industry with 'Yuganiki Okkadu' and proved his worth with films like ‘Awara’ and ‘Naa Peru Shiva’ within a short span of time. His upcoming film ‘Bad Boy’ costarring Anushka is getting released on 22nd on March. So here are few excerpts from the chit-chat with Karthi, who is very excited to share his thoughts and experiences about his new film 'Bad Boy'.
Hi Karthi! After a long time we are seeing you in Hyderabad.
Yes, After ‘Sakuni’ I took some time to appear on big screen with a good script. Suraj's script work has impressed me so, I proceeded further for 'Bad Boy'. I am very happy to appear in front of Telugu people again with a good entertainer.
Does your role depict you as a bad boy?
Each and every person has two shades within him. My character will give more value to money when compared to relations and in most part of the film I will be acted as a bad boy which has negative shades.
What is the character of a bad boy?
The story surrounds the character of a bad boy who doesn't care about his future and gives much preference to money. A girl changes his attitude and molds him into a good boy.
How is the work experience with Anushka?
Anushka is senior to me in acting with more than 40 films to her credit whereas, I have worked only for 7-8 movies. She dominated me in dancing also (with laughs).
You have done risky shots in the film. Haven't you?
In the very beginning of the film I and Anushka have done a risky shot in the train fight without the help of dupe. Unknowingly we both have finished the adventurous shot successfully.
Did you change as an action hero?
I don't want to be fixed for a particular image. I like to expand my acting skills with different roles so, I have opted ‘Bad Boy’ this time which was a mass entertainer and has action elements in it. I acquired the confidence to play any kind of role after this project.
What are the highlights of 'Bad Boy'?
Entire film is a highlight with action sequences, romance, dance steps and comedy. Especially I want to mention about Devi's awesome music where it was a compulsion to dance for his beats. Title song is my all-time favorite.
Tell us about your director Suraj?
He has passion towards the movie field and I am very happy to work with a person who has complete knowledge about 24 frames and screenplay. He starts the work only after the completion of bounded script.
Comedian Santhanam has competed with you in acting it seems?
Throughout the film he plays an equal length character with me in comedy scenes.
You are giving ultimate dance performances. Aren't you?
I am not a trained dancer. The credit goes to Robert master who made me dance so well.
What are your upcoming projects?
Currently, I am involved with two projects of Rajesh and Prabhu. I am pairing with the glam dolls Kajal and Hansika for these projects.
Aren't you playing the role of a playboy in ‘Biryani’?
I will be seen as a playboy in Biriyani where I will romance with more than a girl. I'll be observed as a good boy in Kajal's flick.
Does your Biriyani consists of lip kisses?
I’m a married guy who can't do all those things. My wife was annoyed at the risky shots that I performed in 'Bad Boy' and she warned me not to try those again.
Will Surya bothers share the silver screen in a single flick?
We are looking for a good script. You have to wait for some time to watch us together on the screen.
With which Telugu director you would like to work?
I definitely encourage different concepts and I like all Telugu directors.
