K Raghavendra Reddy, an experienced person from the Telugu film industry, awaits the release of 'Kali' on October 4. In this interview, he recounted his decision to present 'Kali'. Drawn to the film's unique premise and its potential to resonate with the fans of psychological thrillers, he saw the script as a refreshing departure from the usual fare.

A Bit About Me:

"I have been a journalist, a publicist, a movie rights consultant and a writer. I have previously presented 'Alanati Sitralu'," Raghavendra Reddy says.

A Timely Tale:

'Kali' delves into the pressing issue of suicide, a topic that has gained prominence in recent times. Raghavendra Reddy emphasized the film's message of hope and the importance of seeking help. He praised director Siva Sashu for crafting a story that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. "I am confident that 'Kali' will be well-received both on single screens, in multiplexes, and on OTT," he adds.

Building Anticipation

The trailer for 'Kali' garnered the audience's attention, thanks to endorsements from prominent figures like Rebel Star Prabhas and 'Kalki 2898 AD' director Nag Ashwin. The presenter expressed his gratitude for the positive response and revealed that the film has already attracted interest from OTT platforms. "The Trailer was unveiled by 'HanuMan' maker Prasanth Varma," he recalls.

The Right Cast and Crew

The film boasts a talented cast, with Prince Cecil and Naresh Agastya delivering powerful performances. In the interview, Raghavendra Reddy highlighted the technical aspects of the film, including the impressive VFX and the meticulous set design. He also praised the voice actors, Priyadarshi and Ayyappa P Sharma, for their contributions to the film.

A Producer's Vision

He commended the film's producer, Leela Gautham Varma, for his passion and commitment to the project. He noted that Varma's choice to tackle a mature subject like suicide was a testament to his ambition and his potential for future success. He shares his thought process on zeroing in on the genre. "While making films with small actors, it would be wise to choose the genre based on the practicalities of the commercial deals. Your movie must be apt not just for theatres but also for OTT. Even a couple of more crores of money spent on such projects could prove to be a wastage," Reddy says.

The Director's Mastery

Raghavendra Reddy expressed his admiration for director Siva Sashu, whom he described as a talented filmmaker with a deep understanding of Puranas.

A Continuing Journey

Raghavendra Reddy concluded the interview by sharing his ongoing projects as a story writer. "I am working on a film that is currently being shot in America and another devotional film is in pre-production. While I have no plans to direct, I remain passionate about my work and find great satisfaction in presenting and producing films," he added.
