'Matka' is going to compete with 'Kanguva' on November 14. The latter enjoys an enormous head start, while the former could take discouraging openings.
Varun Tej probably realizes that the going is tough for 'Matka'. Speaking at the pre-release event of the film on Sunday, he made an ambivalent speech in which he stated that forgetting one's humble origins will render your success meaningless. He said this in the context of speaking about his gratitude for Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. "I will continue to mention their names in my speeches," Varun Tej declared.
The speech has been interpreted in controversial ways. "It was a cryptic swipe at Allu Arjun, who has stopped mentioning Pawan's name in his speeches for years now." This is what the anti-Bunny, pro-Mega fan base is saying on social media.
Did Varun Tej play the 'controversy card' so that his speech goes viral and, as a consequence, millions who never knew of 'Matka' would come to know about its existence? That's the question many are asking. There is a rift between the Chiranjeevi camp and the Allu Arjun camp for sure. Sai Dharma Tej happened to unfollow Bunny on social media in the wake of Pawan Kalyan becoming Deputy CM recently.
