The Tamil film 'Vidaamuyarchi' is slated to hit the cinemas for Pongal 2025. The action thriller narrates the story of a married couple who go on a trip to Azerbaijan, but things take a turn when the wife gets kidnapped, prompting the husband to search and rescue his wife.
It is believed that the film, produced by Lyca Productions, is a remake of the Hollywood movie, 'Breakdown'. Released in 1997, the American action thriller film was headlined by Kurt Russell. Ajith is said to be reprising Kurt in the adaptation.
'Breakdown' narrated the harrowing ordeal of Jeff and Amy Taylor. While on a cross-country road trip, their seemingly idyllic journey takes a sinister turn when they encounter a group of ruthless criminals. After a series of unsettling incidents, the Taylors find themselves entangled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
