Last week, it was rumoured that Akhil Akkineni is his next target. And this week, a fresh rumour has emerged. Puri is said to have trained his brain cells on a senior hero: Akkineni Nagarjuna. The fresh rumour is believable, because Akhil and Nag are from the same family and they might have legit decided to share the burden of listening to Puri's narration.
Puri and Nagarjuna had a fairly fruitful union in the 2000s. Their Shivamani and Super had redeeming elements. While Shivamani had Nag in a macho cop's role, Super was liked by the audience for its stylized songs.
But 20 years later, a reunion between Puri Jagannadh and Nagarjuna will be fraught with risk, considering the director has been delivering a battery of flops. Is Nagarjuna so starved for decent filmmakers?
