Village-based Telugu-language web series are fun to watch. They have a humorous charm, and a certain funny streak. Aha is coming up with one such comedy this season. "The town where dreams began, where love was first felt, where friendships were forever," the Telugu-only OTT platform wrote.
Titled Hometown, this one tells the story of three childhood friends who indulge in buddy comedy and cutesy romance. The story is set in an active village in the early 2000s. Helmed by Srikanth, Hometown has Rajiv Kanakala, Jhansi, Prajwal Yadma, and Annie (the child artist of Ranna fame was seen recently in films like Yevam, Ma Nanna Superhero, and Nindha).
Sairam and Anirudh are among the young artists who are playing leading roles. They are the village's 'jathi ratnalu', confusing Facebook account for a financial account. If you tell them to sign out from the computer system, they think they have to sign in the register book and get out of the cyber cafe. They are that dumb.
Hometown is all set to make its streaming debut on Aha on April 4. Edited by Carthick, its music is by Suresh Bobbili. Gandhi and Dev are the art director and cinematographer, respectively.
