The Telugu audience all along has been presented only with the dubbed version of Ajith’s movies. Still Ajith has earned a respectable place in Tollywood. So the director Chakri Toleti has decided this time to do a bilingual with Ajith. Thus Ajith is coming in front of all Telugu audience as a gangster David in ‘David Billa’.
Plot: A humble next door guy by name David living in south coastal area becomes a Don “David Billa” due to circumstances. The way he runs the empire and makes everyone run for their money with loads of fear is all the movie about.
Artists: When it comes to Ajith, though the audience has seen him in many action films, this one is expected to be a different one with Ajith coming in different styles and walking away with powerful performance. His character in this film is in mid-20s, hence he sported a trendy look. For Ajith, doing a gangster’s role is not new and he has already proved in various films including ‘Billa’. The producers are confirming this by claiming in all interviews that his fights are spectacular and a cut above the rest. Well! while the action department is fully centered around Ajith, there is no dearth for the glamour department. Chakri Toleti has taken keen initiative and roped in four fresh faces, including the 2008 Miss India World Parvathy Omankuttaan,. Bruna Abdullah, Vidyut Jamwal and Sudhanshu Pandey do their parts in supporting roles. This movie may provide a good launching platform for all four.

He is well known to us as a child photographer in Kamal Haasan-Jaya Pradha starrer ‘Sagara Sangamam’ directed by K Vishwanath. The director who shot his debut film ‘Eenadu’ with RED Camera, this time used RED Epic Camera which is an upgraded version. The effect and outcome of the Epic camera can well be understood from the recent Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Amazing Spiderman’.

David Billa became the first Indian movie to be shot at Likani Palace, which is the summer residence of the President of Georgia. Besides the presentation and locations, the film really succeeds in cinematography and acting. So the audience would definitely expect Rajasekhar’s cinematography to be spectacular since RED Epic camera was used to shoot this action film.
Stunts: For such action packed films, the stunts play a very vital role and aptly Chakri ensured that the international skill is available for the movie. Stefan Richter, a German stunt master adds value to his department along with two other Indian counter-parts Kecha Khamphakdee and K Rajasekhar. While Stefan supervised the stunt sequences in Georgia, Rajasekhar choreographed the fight sequences in Hyderabad and Goa and Kecha did the climax part. The climax part is said to have been canned against a snowy backdrop. The highlight of stunts would be the aerial shots taken from a helicopter. As per VFX creative director, Madhu Sudhanan, VFX was used in action scenes, set extensions and 3D sequences.

This apart, couple of romantic numbers involving Ajith-Parvathy Omanakuttan and Ajith-Bruna Abdullah under Raju Sundaram’s choreography is expected to entertain the audience. The songs were shot in Goa, Hyderabad and Pondicherry. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who scored music for ‘Billa’, joined hands with Ajith for the fifth time to compose music for his film. There are altogether six tracks including the theme music track. The audio was launched recently and the response was good in Telugu. Yuvan being a promising music director, expectations will be high on the background music also and no doubt, he will live upto it..
