Karthi is not only one of the most happening star actors down South but is also the only hero to be doing three sequels, the shoot of one of which is already over.
'Ponniyin Selvan-II' was shot by Mani Ratnam alongside the first one in 2021. The film will hit the cinemas in 2023. The first part had Karthi as the primary force. The second one will have less of him, with Jayam Ravi's character coming to the forefront.
'Kaithi 2': This one is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is going to be shot in 2023. It will head to theatres in 2024. It will be an expensively shot film.
'Sardar 2': The sequel to 'Sardar' was made official yesterday. Directed by PS Mithran, it will probably go on the floors in 2023.
Karthi has also scored back-to-back blockbusters in Tamil, with both 'Ponniyin Selvan: I' and 'Sardar' minting big numbers in Tamil Nadu. The former is a monster hit. 'Sardar' is way behind but it was never expected to be a magnum opus in any case.
