Netflix has released a viewership report covering its content during the period from January to June 2023. The first Indian title to appear on the list is 'Rana Naidu', which starred Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati. Among Netflix's 1800 titles from across the world, 'Rana Naidu' ranks at No. 336. And there is no Indian show or movie till 335 ranks. Both original and acquired content were considered for ranking.
It is interesting to note that 'Rana Naidu', which was trolled by many for its strong language and sexual content, is at the top from India. Its sequel will be shot soon.
'Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga' and 'Mission Majnu', the Bollywood films, were watched widely, the report says.
The data has been reported in terms of hours. "Reporting data in hours viewed gives no insight into how many accounts completed a title, or even engaged with it past the first episode. This is information that all streamers, especially Netflix, use to determine the success of their content," says a report by Deadline, analyzing Netflix's first-of-its-kind engagement report.
