However, the strike rate of the lavish banner has been underwhelming overall. The lack of quality checks in the pre-production, production and post-production stages shows. 'Indian 2' is the latest disaster from the banner.
'Chandramukhi 2' was a meaningless and atrocious sequel to 'Chandramukhi'. It was ten times worse than 'Indian 2'.
Akshay Kumar's Hindi film 'Ram Setu' was a disaster. Aishwarya Rajinikanth-directed 'Lal Salaam' was lousy. It was a mega flop despite Rajinikanth's cameo. Rajini-starrer 'Darbar' was outdated.
The banner now awaits the release of Ajith Kumar's 'Vidaa Muyarchi', Rajini's 'Vettaiyan', Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'L2: Empuraan' (Malayalam) and 'Indian 3'. All these big-budget movies will be hitting the cinemas within the next 12 months.
