It is known that playback singer Kalpana was found lying in an unconscious state on Tuesday night at her residence in Hyderabad. Preliminary investigation revealed that Kalpana took sleeping pills in excessive doses in the afternoon.
While police suspected a suicide attempt on her part, her daughter told the media that it was a case of medicine overdose and nothing else. "My mother has been pursuing her PhD. She hasn't had a good sleep. A doctor had prescribed her pills to treat insomnia. There are no disputes in our family. My parents and I are very happy. I request the media not to spread any lies," the young girl told the media today.
Kalpana was treated in the ICU throughout Tuesday night. She is now in a stable condition and is conscious.
