Rebel – Will Mr Perfect be a right Rebel?
‘Rebel’ is all set to hit screens worldwide on September 28, 2012. However, even before it opened to theatres, from the moment the trailers and posters were released, the film eventually turned Prabhas into one of the most popular and top money-making action Stars in Tollywood. What else one would conclude when the industry is abuzz with the news that the distribution rights have been sold in AP and the neighborhood state Tamil Nadu to crazy figures. Obviously, millions of movie lovers and Prabhas’ fans would genuinely have high expectations on this action thriller.
‘Rebel’, starring Prabhas, Tamannah and Deeksha Seth as main lead stars is jointly produced by J Bhagawan and J Pulla Rao on Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. Krishnam Raju is playing a very important role in this film which is very essential for the story. Comedy track by Brahmanandam, M S Narayana, Aali and Kovai Sarala is expected to give good relaxation in this action packed film.
In the recently released audio function Raghava Lawrence admitted that ‘Rebel’ is a prestigious title which was earned by Krishnam Raju in a hard way after delivering 50 films. Although, it was Prabhas who suggested the title ‘Rebel’ for the film, Lawrence considered it as his own responsibility to maintain its reputation and said to have worked hard to bring out the best output for the film aiming for a grand success. In lines with this, Lawrence designed Prabhas’s character with a mix of style, power, love, revenge, vengeance and chunk. According to the filmmaker, the hero Krishna (Prabhas) stands tall for his love, feelings and emotion. He fights for the justice and for what he believes. Lawarance’s delay in completing the film is justified when we notice the way he designed the hero’s character with powerful traits. This apart, he made substantial changes in Krishnam Raju’s character based on his body-language. He is also introducing 5 new villains in this film. While the posters of ‘Rebel’ specify how stylish the film would be, the trailers speak the technical values of the film.
The tremendous response for the music has garnered 50% success of the film and its team. In the language of unit members, Prabhas and Tamannah have given extraordinary dance movements in the songs. Deeksha Seth is a special package to the film. This being Lawrence’s own directorial venture, one can imagine the stylish dance movements done by the lead pair. Another dance master Sridhar also choreographed some beautiful dance moves. Lyrics for the songs are penned by Ramajogayya Sastry and Bhaskara Bhatla.
Cinematographer C Ram Prasad needs no special mention as the audience saw his outstanding works in films like ‘Athanokkade’, ‘Maryada Ramanna’, ‘Mirapakai’, ‘Munna’, ‘Hare Ram, ‘Okka Magadu’, etc. And now the ‘Rebel’ trailers and posters speak no different language, yet his work in this film is expected to get critical acclaims shortly.
Similarly other technicians who have put in their best efforts towards their job are fight masters Ram-Lakshman, art director Prakash, costume designer Ramesh, Make-up man Ramu and editor Marthand K Venkatesh. Made with a budget of about Rs 40 crores by Sri Balaji Cine Media banner, Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations banner will distribute the film in Nizam area, 14 Reels Entertainment will distribute in Krishna district and N V Prasad took over the rights of the Ceded area. 7 Seas will release the film abroad.
After tasting super success with ‘Kanchana’ last year, Raghava Lawrence convinced the young Rebel Star Prabhas to take on a role in his next project (Rebel). It was more than a decade ago that this multi-talented technician started off his film career as a choreographer, later turned actor and then the director. In ‘Rebel’, he has churned out yet another hidden talent in him, that is, composing the music and proved him as an all-rounder.
To conclude, Prabhas, who delivered two back-to-back romantic entertainers like ‘Darling’ and ‘Mr Perfect’, is now going to appear on silver screen through a full-fledged action flick. Further, the work ‘Rebel’ attached to the family members, there will be all out efforts to establish the brand by Prabhas as well as Krishnamraju.
