Friends To Support Organization is a non-profit organization maintaining a 24X7 online free database of Voluntary Blood Donors on friends2support.org website/mobile application with a free search facility (without any need for registration) allowing people to find a voluntary donor in any city in India and four other countries. The website and organization is run without outside support for past 10 years.
To promote this concept of Voluntary Blood donation, we have associated with National Blood Transfusion Council (A wing of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) to organize a National Short Film Competition inviting students/enthusiasts to shoot a digital animation or ordinary movie of not exceeding 3 minutes duration (minimum of 30 seconds) from all over the world. The announcement was made on Sunday 14 June 2015 coinciding with World Blood Donors’ Day at several launch programmes organized in New Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Rajahmundry, Agarthala, simultaneously calling for entries till Monday, 31 August 2015.
A grand finale will be organized in Hyderabad on Thursday, 01 October 2015 at some hotel inviting 15 finalist teams (Two members each) from all over India for a day and screening 15 short-listed Short Films by a team of eminent Jury members drawn from across the society in the presence of Media and give away three top prizes. Travel grant and accommodation will be provided to the final 15 entries.
While the Union Ministry of Health has promised to give away the prizes totaling, the VELS University Chennai will present the event taking care of launch programmes and publicity, TV9 is the Media Partner, BIGFM 92.7 as Radio Partner is propagating the event.
