Last week, Allu Arjun was in Germany to attend the Berlin International Film Festival. Although his team has claimed that he was there to represent Indian cinema, the buzz in the town is that there was a commercial angle and that Bunny's presence at the festival had nothing to do with his alleged iconic stature.
It is rumoured that the Icon Star was there at the festival to shop for distributors. Yes, he wants 'Pushpa 2' to be released simultaneously in a few foreign languages. The film festival attendance was aimed at catching the attention of the trade circles in Germany and a few other European countries.
There is nothing wrong about expanding the horizons of one's film. But projecting a commercial endeavour as some sort of representation for Indian cinema is in poor taste.
'Pushpa 2', directed by Sukumar, will head to theatres on August 15.
