Shankar's 'Indian 2', 'Game Changer': A Missed Opportunity for SJ Suryah

Director Shankar is under fire from netizens for squandering the potential of actor SJ Suryah in both 'Indian 2' and 'Game Changer'.

In Kamal Haasan's movie, Suryah played 'Sakalakala Vallavan' Sarguna Pandiyan. He hammed his way through the film. In the Teaser of 'Game Changer', too, he is barely watchable. He appears to be playing an animated political leader in the Ram Charan-starrer. 'Game Changer' hits the cinemas on January 10, 2025.

SJ Suryah's true potential was on display in the recent 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram'. The Nani-starrer cast him in the role of a sadistic cop with a pathological personality. And Suryah simply nailed it with his performance. Netizens are surprised that a Telugu filmmaker like Vivek Athreya could present Suryah so well but a Tamil filmmaker like Shankar has failed him not once but twice.

SJ Suryah was also seen in Jigarthanda DoubleX and Mark Antony last year. But it is Game Changer that is more important for him in terms of catering to the Hindi audience. So, the film must not fail him.
