She is the director to whom Prasanth Varma has entrusted a female superhero movie with. 'Mahakali', which is the third installment in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, will be helmed by the second-time director. Its story is set in Bengal and features a dark-skinned actress playing a divine character. Themes associated with colour-based discrimination will be explored by the movie, which could head to theatres in the second half of 2025.
For the 'HanuMan' director, the stakes are high. If 'Mahakali' becomes a hit, the brand value of PVCU will go up. If it flops, the reverse will happen.
The second installment in the PVCU will be directed by Varma himself. It stars Nandamuri Mokshagna in the lead. Sudhakar Cherukuri is producing it. The project was made official recently.
