“Mana Oori Ramayanam”, the latest bilingual film from the actor -director Prakash Raj, is all set to hit the screens on October 7th worldwide. “We are releasing the movie on October 7 on the eve of Dasara festival. Clean U certificate was given by the Censor Board. Abhishek Pictures is releasing the movie in both the Telugu states in big way,” Prakash Raj shared his happiness announcing the release date.
Made in Two languages as “Mana Oori Ramayanam” in Telugu and “Idolle Ramayana” in Kannada, the film is shot extensively in Shad Nagar and Ramoji Film city in Hyderabad and in surrounding areas of Coorg in Karnataka.
Prakash Raj further adds, “Maestro Ilayaraja’s music and the unique storyline are the main highlights of the movie.”
The movie is a story of four souls that reflect the characters from Ramayana. They are at vantage point in their lives. The four characters are – Bujangaiah (a Dubai returned businessman that has dreams of doing things his ways), Susheela (An escort who is materialistic at core), an Rikshawala (who has his yes on unfulfilled Dubai dairies), and Garuda (a movie director who is obsessed with his dream movie project). The plot thickens when their paths cross and events unfold to take them on a journey where their emotions get better of them, eventually leading them from sense of excitement to fear of humiliation to self-realization.
A line from a Harikatha goes like this: “If ever Lord Rama transforms into a Rakshasa, his greatest disciple Hanumantha wouldn’t stay a confidante”. This summarizes the thought and the characters of this movie.
