Nandamuri Balakrishna was a worried man. He had no clue who would direct the biopic on his father NTR. Teja walked away from the film citing his reasons. Balayya requested senior director K Raghavendra Rao, he too refused. Then Balayya himself decided to direct the film. But all plans turned topsy turvy when Mahanati released. Balayya realised that this was a film that needs proper planning and some good director should be handling it.
Director Krish has been brought in to helm this project. He and Balayya had worked together in Gauthami Putra Satakarni. This was a huge hit. Presently Krish is working on Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika. Once this is complete he will move on to NTR Biopic.
