Actor Vishal is in legal trouble. The Madras High Court has reportedly asked him to deposit a sum of Rs 15 Cr into a Fixed Deposit account so that it can be used as a security amount towards a loan that he owes to the famous production house Lyca Productions of '2.0' fame.
Vishal, who was most recently seen in 'Saamanyudu', reportedly owes Lyca an amount of Rs 21.69 Cr along with interest.
How it all began for Vishal...
Years ago, Vishal borrowed a large sum from famous financier Anbu Chezhian of Gopuram Films. Anbu is one of the biggest financiers in Kollywood. Vishal allegedly failed to repay the loan amount. This is when he is believed to have requested Lyca to take over the loan on his behalf. Going by news reports, Lyca did so by putting forth some conditions to Vishal. PTI and news reports say that Lyca's "agreement provides for the first lien on all rights, titles, and interest in all future film projects of Vishal until the loan is fully repaid."
'Veerame Vagai Soodum' ('Saamanyudu' in Telugu) was released in February but it was allegedly not as per Vishal's agreement with Lyca.
