'F3' is all set to hit the cinemas on May 27. As per early trade reports, the audience's enthusiasm for the movie in the Overseas market is not yet evident. Anil Ravipudi's critics have in the past commented that his comedy is too slapstick and needlessly Jandhyala-fied. Even before 'F2' was released, many wrote off the film.
'F3' is facing similar negativity ahead of its theatrical release. English-savvy movie buffs and cinephiles, in the main, are laughing at the movie's loud sensibilities after watching its trailer. Even a section of the general audience are not attracted to 'F3'.
But 'F3' could throw up a huge surprise. It's not wise to underestimate comedies. The box office potential of 'F2' was under-estimated by even its core team. Venkatesh was surprised at the magnitude of its collections.
If 'F3' offers 90 minutes of healthy comedy (as producer Dil Raju recently said), the film will surely manage to draw the family audience to theatres. Family entertainers/comedies are not mass masala movies to attract crazy numbers starting with the overseas premieres stage itself. Above all, trust Dil Raju's judgement! He goes wrong very few times.
