From Sidelines to Spotlight: Sivaji, Ruskhar Dhillon's Comeback Trails

Rarely do two films in a single week offer such a clear path for reinvention, but DilRuba and Court have provided just that for two artists.

Court, starring Priyadarshi and others, is a comeback film for Sivaji. Those who were born in the late 1990s and later might not be familiar with him except as a Bigg Boss Telugu contestant and a political rumour-monger. But Sivaji was one of the most sought-after artists for supporting roles in the early 2000s. Pawan Kalyan's Kushi was among his most popular appearances. While there is a theory that he frittered away his growing popularity by insisting on lead roles, nobody knows if that's the truth. He might have got over-ambitious and screwed up his film career. With Court, though, Sivaji gets a second chance. As Mangapathi, a wild and mean-minded strongman, he has nailed it with his performance in Court.

Ruskhar Dhillon looks pretty cool and glamorous in DilRuba. The Kiran Abbavaram-starrer has her in the role of a college student who is desperate for the hero's attention. She has had a long wait in the wings. Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam should have propelled her career. "I never planned my acting career. Things just happened. Even in the beginning, I was very lucky and was blessed to get good opportunities. My first film was with a big banner in Kannada. In Telugu, I got to work with Nani and Allu Sirish early on. I am happy about the choices I made," Ruskhar once said in an interview.
