'Maa Neella Tank’ is set to stream on Zee5 from July 15. Actor Sushanth plays a cop who is in love with Priya Anand's character in this Rayalaseema-based small-town comedy-drama.
The 8-episode series also features Sudarshan (as Gopal, he has played the role of a young clown who threatens to jump off an old water tank if his crush doesn't accept his love proposal), Prem Sagar, Nirosha and Divi.
Helmer Lakshmi Sowjanya today said that the story is set in Buchivolu. "Sudarshan's character holds a threat. This angers his father, who is a politician seeking re-election. Meanwhile, the politician's rival wants to fish in the troubled waters," she says.
Where does Sushanth's character fit into the scheme of things? "He is given the job of tracking Surekha so that Gopal can be placated. He wants a transfer out of the town in return for the task," the makers said.
